Vanessa Kirker Wright, Attorney at Law
Vanessa Kirker Wright is the founder of Kirker|Wright Law Group, APC. Ms. Kirker Wright received her B.A. in Developmental Psychology from USCB. Following her graduation from UCSB, Ms. Kirker Wright attended Santa Barbara College of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1989. In July of 2002, she was certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a family law specialist. In 2021, Ms. Kirker Wright received her Master's in Clinical Psychology. Ms. Kirker Wright has represented clients in divorce, legal separation, support, parentage, same-sex divorce, adoption, custody, and three parent custody disputes in Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast for three decades.
Ms. Kirker Wright has had many successes representing clients in trial, evidentiary hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations. Not only does she work with clients but also works often with other attorneys in the State as co-counsel to resolve family law matters and appeals due to her ability to handle complex and high-conflict family law matters.
Ms. Kirker Wright has a strong connection with the Santa Barbara County legal community. She is a member of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association and Santa Barbara Women Lawyers, a past chair of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association - Family Law Section, was a board member of the Santa Barbara County Bar Foundation, and was a member of the Family Law Rules Revision Committee. For the past 19 years, she has volunteered as Settlement Master with the Santa Barbara Superior Court; often recognised for her outstanding services. In addition to her involvement within the community, she is associated with numerous sections of the California State Bar including the Family Law Section Executive Committee and Council of Sections. She has also contributed to the community in other ways, such as working with the Santa Barbara County Legal Aid Foundation and teaching Community Property at the Santa Barbara College of Law.
Ms. Kirker Wright is a California native and has resided in Santa Barbara for over 40 years. She has two grown children who both attended local high schools and played multiple sports, such as water polo and soccer, while growing up in Santa Barbara.
